Our Mission:

"To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by welcoming and affirming, equipping and challenging the mind, heart, and spirit"

Our Welcome Statement:

We recognize that every person is of sacred worth.
We strive to be an authentic, transforming, Christ-centered community that nourishes the mental, emotional, and spiritual growth of all people.
We seek to affirm those marginalized because of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, and culture.
Following the example of Jesus, we open our doors and hearts to all.

Widening the Welcome and Building Project Update

The Wesley Foundation is engaging in a new building project and an accompanying capital campaign, Widening the Welcome.  Having sold our current 45-year-old building and property to Western Michigan University, we are now making plans and raising funds to move to a new location on campus, just 1200 west of our current location, on which we will build a brand new facility with both ministry and residential components.  Through this new project, we hope to foster greater collaboration with the Kalamazoo District and West Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church (by welcoming the Kalamazoo District Office into our new building), allow for increased partnership with current and new ministry partners, and establish even greater radical hospitality as we reach out to all on campus and in the Kalamazoo community.

On August 16th, 2012, an open house and dedication ceremony opened the first residential living center.  The intentional living center is offering space for eight students and a resident advisor to live in community through their prayers, presence, gifts and service and witness.

Students interested in living in the residence should contact wesleyofkalamazoo@gmail.com or call the office, 269.344.4076.

Attached below are several documents, including a map of the new and old locations, building plans, and the project case statement.  (If you are having difficulty viewing these documents, please create a free account and sign in by clicking on "Login" at the top left of your screen.)

The Wesley Foundation is seeking funds from alumni, friends, current students and their families, foundations, and congregations.  If you would like more information about the project or would like to make a gift, please contact Karen Saddler, Campaign Manager, at (269) 344-4076 or wesleycampaignmanager@gmail.com, or you can mail to the Wesley Foundation directly at 2101 Wilbur Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49006.
